NRA Trade Show 2014 Recap
The NRA Show finished up this week, and CHD Expert was glad to be in attendance. As usual the show offered a wealth of new experiences, top innovations, networking opportunities, and interesting presentations. Because we had such a great time, we here at CHD Expert wanted to put together an NRA Trade Show Recap.
There was a lot of great stuff at the show, but here are the three things that excited us the most:
EcO3Ice Ice Sanitation Technology by Franke
Ice sanitation has been a major problem in the foodservice industry in terms of health inspections. Many health inspectors deduct points from restaurants’ sanitation grades due to ice sanitation, so this innovation has great potential. The technology continuously treats the incoming water used by ice machines to completely sanitize the water, ice path, evaporator, and ice bins, which greatly lowers the risk of foodborne illness. It also removes unpleasant odors from the ice and reduces the frequency of ice machine cleaning. We saw this demoed at the NRA show and think it’s going to be a hot seller (no pun intended).
Tabasco Ice cream
Food was more of a presence at the show than it has been in the past, and we certainly weren’t complaining! Chili products are popping up all over the food scene, and that included the NRA trade show. Tabasco unveiled their latest innovation: Tabasco Ice Cream.
The Pepsi Spire
Pepsi has gone digital, a major trend in foodservice right now. Their newest touchscreen self-serve drink dispenser has the added bonus of fruit options. Want a Pepsi with lemon? This machine can do it. Intended for placement in movie theaters, fast food restaurants and other dining settings, this dispenser is available in three sizes and can make more than 1,000 drink combinations.
In addition to being wowed by great fantastic products, we were also able to take some great photos at the show. You can check them out here:
Overall we loved our time at the NRA trade show this year. We loved getting the inside scoop on the foodservice industry and meeting tons of interesting new people. As you’ll remember from our conversations, CHD Expert specializes in foodservice data and if you want to better understand the foodservice landscape in your area, make sure you get in touch with Brad Bloom.
We hope to see you at next year’s show!
